2.1. All users
All of the following data is collected when creating/modifying your profile in the app:
- your alias
- your first name
- your last name
- your avatar
The following data is collected when modifying your personal preferences in the app:
- your preferred language (optional)
2.2. Users who have registered with an IOU account
All of the following data is collected when registering for using the app:
- your email address
- your password
2.3. Users who have registered with a social login
All of the following data is collected when registering for using and logging into the app:
- an anonymous identifier provided by your social login provider
- your first name in use at your social provider
- your last name in use at your social provider
- your avatar in use at your social provider
Please note that all data collected and exchanged between our app, our server and, if applicable a social login provider, is end-to-end encrypted.

is used to:
- display to any user within the app, when searching for other users
- display to any user within the app, when viewing an IOU which is associated to your account
- display to any user within the app, when viewing your user-profile

- display the content of the app in your preferred language
3.2. Users who have registered with an IOU account
The following data:
is used to:
- verify that you have access to the e-mail address to confirm the account creation
- receive a recovery code, in case you forgot your password and want to reset your password
- to log into the app

The following data:
- an anonymous identifier provided by your social login provider
is used to:
- uniquely associate your user account with the login of your social login provider
Please note that this identifier is completely anonymous, and that the login always takes place directly at your social login provider. As a result, our app is not aware of any login credentials that are associated with your social login provider.
The following data:
- your first name in use at your social provider
- your last name in use at your social provider
- your avatar name in use at your social provider

- to make a suggestion for the profile information to use
4. How do we store your data?

Apart from your preferred language, which is stored locally on your device by our app, all other data is securely stored on a server in a data center located within the EU.
All passwords are stored using a strong one-way hashing algorithm and using an automatically generated random salt.
5. For how long do we store your data?

We store your data until the moment that you decide to delete your account. As an IOU can be associated to one or more user accounts, we must ensure that our app continues to work for the other users with which such IOUs were associated, even after you decided to delete your account.
For this purpose, when you delete your account, we will automatically anonymize your data. This way, we can ensure that the app continues to work for other users, while respecting your privacy at the same time; the only difference is that where it would previously display your data, it would thereafter refer to an 'unknown user' (or something similar).
Please note that the content of IOUs themselves is not changed when you delete your account. Therefore, we recommend to avoid including any personally identifiable information (e.g. names, addresses etc.) as part of an IOU.

Our app contains advertisements, which are personalized based on a unique identifier of your device (similar to a cookie) and provided by Google AdMob.
Other than that, none of the data in our app is used for marketing purposes.

You have the right to request for copies of your personal data.
7.2. The right to rectification
You have the right to request that we correct any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request that we complete the information you believe is incomplete. Obviously, you can also do this yourself via our app.

You have the right to request that we erase your personal data, under certain conditions. You can do this yourself via our app, by deleting your account.
7.4. The right to restrict processing
You have the right to request that we restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
7.5. The right to object to processing
You have the right to object to our processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
7.6. The right to data portability
You have the right to request that Our Company transfer the data that we have collected to another organization, or directly to you, under certain conditions.
If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
